Why it works in P.E.

Built for a gym full of students.

Hantis was invented by students in a classroom, and it still works best with a crowd. Four players are on a court at a time, and a court takes up to 12. For a class, plan about 6 per court and run the lead-up games as stations, swapping every few minutes. The free starter kit shows the layout.

Everyone plays

No bench: anyone who gets out goes to the back of the line and rotates right back in. Partners change almost every point.

No new equipment

Four same-size tables per group and a tennis ball. Softer balls work for the lead-up games.

New to everyone

Nobody has played it before, so it levels the field between your athletes and your beginners.

Cross-curricular

Science and writing assignments connect movement to the brain, the body and the Common Core. The science of Hantis.

What teachers say

Straight from the gym.

“Hantis has been a craze at our school. It is one of the most inclusive games our kids have played. We have our 3 different tables going based on difficulty and the kids self police each table. The constant rotation and change of possession keeps their interest. A must play for any PE Class. The rules are easy... just watch the video.”

Coach CandrlPhysical Education · Owensville High School

“Hantis is one of the best PE days of our semester. Our students love it! Everyone is active, engaged, and having a lot of fun. The Hantis crew is the best. The atmosphere they create with the music and games is awesome. Every PE class needs to experience it.”

Coach StirtzPhysical Education · Liberty High School

“The game is catching on like wildfire. I have never seen the students gravitate to anything as fast as they have to this game.”

Questions

Teacher FAQ

What grades is it for?

Middle school and high school, grades 6–12. Each lesson includes separate exam questions for grades 6–8 and 9–12.

What equipment do I need?

Four tables of the same size for each group (cafeteria tables, folding tables or classroom desks all work) and tennis balls. Many teachers use softer foam or low-compression balls for the lead-up games. Want a dedicated set? Official table build plans are free.

How many students can play at once?

Four play on each set of four tables, and a set takes up to 12 in Freestyle rotation. For a class, about 6 per set gives everyone more time on the tables: run the lead-up games as stations and swap groups every few minutes. Add more sets of tables for bigger classes.

How long is the unit?

About 10 to 11 class days of 30 to 50 minutes, plus optional tournament days. You can shorten or extend it; the lesson overview explains how.

How do I get the file?

Right after checkout you'll get a download link on screen and by email. It's a PDF you keep forever.

Can I print the worksheets?

Yes. You may print the worksheets, exit slips and handouts for your own students.

What if it's not right for my class?

Email us within 14 days for a full refund, no questions asked. See the refund policy.

Is it a subscription?

No. It's a one-time purchase of $99.

Is there a plan I can leave for a substitute?

Yes, and it's free in the starter kit. The Hantis Freestyle Sub Plan is a 6-page PDF with a fill-in page for you, a minute-by-minute class plan, a read-aloud rules script, a court card and a sub report. Your sub doesn't need to know Hantis.

Can I see it before I buy?

Yes. Get the free starter kit: it includes a 15-page sample with Lesson 1 in full, the standards alignment and three lead-up games, plus a plan for your first session.
